Conference Overview
We are excited that we will be meeting again in Saratoga Springs, NY for our 2023 Setting the Pace Conference. This in person conference gives us the opportunity to meet new people, renew old acquaintances and catch up on NYSENA activities. We will be offering two pre-conference sessions along with two full days of stimulating presentations and a Mardi Gras masquerade party!
This year we have two preconference presentations on Wednesday, April 26, 2023 from 12:00PM-4:30PM. One presentation is a CPEN (Certified Emergency Pediatric Nurse)review. This presentation will cover pediatric emergency nursing material that could be on the CPEN exam. This presession will give you a good foundation in preparing to take the CPEN examination.
The other presession offering is entitled Emergency Nursing 101. This course will cover a myriad of topics such as evidence collection, basic EKG interpretation, neuro assessment. Other topics that will be covered include emergency medications, ortho/spinal assessments and eye injuries assessment and treatments . The topics covered will give you a varied spectrum of emergency nursing practice.
On Wednesday, April 26, 2023 NYSENA Council meeting 6:00PM- 9:00PM. dinner is provided. Meet your board members and learn about state & national emergency nursing news. Hear about various NYSENA committee accomplishments. At conclusion of the council meeting, NYSENA will have an awards ceremony honoring richly deserving emergency nurses. The winners of the 2023 NYSENA poster contest will be presented as well.
The conference begins on Thursday, April 27th at 8 AM. ENA leaders will give us an update on ENA state and national news. Throughout the conference, we will have regional and national speakers share their knowledge and expertise about a variety of topics such as cardiac, trauma, neuro, pediatrics, and medical emergencies.
Thursday evening brings us the chance to have fun at a Mardi Gras masquerade party starting at 6PM. Good times will be had by all with a buffet dinner, music, dancing and just enjoying the festivities!. The Mardi Gras party is free to all conference registrants. Guest registration for the Mardi Gras party is $25.00, payable to NYSENA.
Friday begins with “Breakfast with the Exhibitors” from 7:30 AM to 9:30 AM. The Exhibitors will be with us throughout the day for breaks, lunch and closing in the Exhibit Hall and will be available to sign your Bingo Cards when you visit them.
Education sessions will continue throughout the day. In addition to the live education sessions, we will have poster presentations on the NYSENA website for your review. The poster presentation features a scavenger hunt (with prizes).
The conference will wrap up with our famous basket raffle that will feature baskets representing the various regions of New York State.
