2024 Speaker Biographies

Eileen Breckenridge

Eileen Breckenridge, RN

Eileen’s career in Emergency Nursing began in 1986. Since then, she has worked in rural and Level 1 centers. Including two years in critical care ground/flight transports culminating with air response to the events of 911. Eileen have spent the last ten years supporting education of our nurses as an AHA instructor, NYS TNCC/ENPC faculty and a member of the Capitol District Region Critical Care Education Consortium.

She spent most of her life in NY but now reside outside Nashville, TN. The joys of Eileen’s life are scattered across the country so she can often be found crocheting on a plane to visit her children and grandchildren!

Carolyn Dixon

Carolyn Dixon, DNP, MS, RN, FNP-BC, CEN, TCRN, NYSAFE

Carolyn is currently employed as the nurse educator at Staten Island University Hospital, Staten Island, New York. Carolyn has over twenty years of emergency and critical care experience and is devoted to the educational development of nurses, especially that of the emergency department nurse.

When not in the trenches with her co-workers, Carolyn can be found spending time with family and friends and walking with her new fur baby Cooper.

Adam Oplinger

Adam Oplinger, BS, RN, CEN

Adam started his career as a volunteer EMT in Hammondsport in 1989, he then went on to become a Paramedic where he worked Rural Metro Medical Services Southern Tier as Education Coordinator, worked at Finger Lakes as a Director of Training, at Mercy Flight Central as a flight Paramedic / Nurse and other Ambulances services through out New York. Adam went on to become a register nurse and worked at University of Rochester Medical Center in the Pediatric Cardiac Care and Pediatric Transport. He is now the Trauma Injury Prevention and Outreach Coordinator for Kessler Trauma Center.

Adam Lawrence

Adam Lawrence, CEN, CTRN, TCRN, BSN, RN, EMT, AGACNP-Student

Adam Lawrence started his career as an EMT and worked in EMS for 5 years before completing his nursing degree. He transitioned into an ED fellowship at rochester general hospital where he worked for three years before moving to a rural hospital in Batavia, NY where he worked as a hospital supervisor and ED nurse educator. He is now a critical care float nurse for catholic health services in Buffalo, NY and an Assistant professor of nursing at the Rochester general College of health careers in Rochester NY. He maintains his CEN, TCRN, and CTRN certifications through the BCEN and is also an instructor for ENPC and TNCC. When not teaching or working on the floor he is actively pursuing his advanced degree as an adult-gerontology acute care nurse practitioner at St. John fisher university where he will be graduating this May. Adam was honored with the Rising star award from the NYS state council last year as well as being honored as one of ENA’s 20 under 40.

Deb Delaney

Deb Delaney, DNP, MHA, RN, CEN

Deb Delaney has nearly 30 years of experience as an emergency nurse and nursing leader. She has worked as a consultant, traveling across the United States to help hospitals with redesign and process-improvement opportunities. Her expertise in improving throughput and hospital crowding has gained her national recognition, and she is a sought-after speaker on the topic. Delaney holds her CEN and is an active member of the ENA. She has published several articles and has been a chapter author for books on Emergency Nursing. Deb currently works as Clinical Implementation Lead for Mednition, an Artificial Intelligence software company in California.
